Frequently Asked 8mm Film Transfer Questions

  • Yes. All film reels will be returned with your completed order.

  • We are able to transfer your reels in the order you specify but with one important guideline to follow: We cannot mix different film types. For example, we are unable to convert Super 8 reels in the middle of Regular 8 reels, and vice versa. If you have numbered your reels in a way that different film types are mixed together, we cannot guarantee that the individual order of reels will be kept.

  • Yes. We are able to transfer Super 8 sound film and 16mm optical sound film.

  • We can fit up to 2,000 feet of film onto a single DVD. Orders over 2,000 feet will be split onto multiple DVDs (no extra fee).

  • Average turnaround time is 7 business days in-house. Allow longer processing times during the holidays.

  • Although there is no minimum number of reels you must send, we do have a minimum charge of $30 for all film conversion services. So, if the quantity of film to digitize results in a cost of less than $30, the $30 minimum applies.

  • All film orders are standard definition transfers.

  • 1 DVD is included free for all film transfer orders. 1 free USB flash drive is included for orders of 1,500 feet. Digital download links are also available. Extra DVDs and USB flash drives can be added for an additional cost. Call for detailed pricing info.

  • Our film conversion service is available to customers in the lower 48 US states.

  • You can ship your film to us or drop them off at our facility in Atlanta, GA. Even for smaller film orders, we highly recommend using a sturdy box if shipping an order to us. Bubble wrap and newspaper are great ways to fill space and protect your film from damage during transit.
